With all of the boards finished, the next step was preparing the boards.  Jonathan and Nicholas were both glad to help with that after Jonathan got home from school.

I am not sure how much help they were, but at least they got to feel like they were a part of the process.

After they did a few boards, we went inside while Mark finished applying the wood conditioner.  In the end it was too cold in the garage, even with the door to the house open and the heater on and so we could not stain the boards, we will have to bring the bed out to the garage in the summer to take care of that!
