We were excited about moving into a house in Wisconsin because it would have a basement.  There are many advantages to a basement, things like a place for toys, storage space, etc.  A major benefit is that the basement has a pretty moderate temperature year round, which means that you can store food there.  So we have been shopping the excellent "new store" sales at our new Target and making use of the cannery to get stocked up on sugar, beans, etc.  We were really lucky that our furnace room in our new house is pretty big and already has these shelves in it.  They are just right for cans.
