Happy Easter. I suppose I could post a photo of our Easter Baskets, etc, etc. After we did the Easter thing, it was still pretty early, so we decided to drive to Chicago and go to the Field Museum to see the Aztec exhibit that is leaving this week. We met up with Abuela Susan there and had a great time. We loved the Aztec stuff, but thought the pirates, dinosaurs, and egyptian exhibits were great too! I had a hard time picking a photo, but chose this one because my mom was asking me about how the skull of Sue (the Field's T-Rex) comapres in size to Big Mike (the T-Rex at the Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman). So we took this picture that gives a relative size. This is Sue's head. Go back a few days to the 9th to see the same people next to Big Mike's head.
Side note: clearly Sue's head is smaller, but that does not make Sue less impressive. Sue is a complete T-Rex, and is truly a unique specimen. Big Mike is really big, but in other ways is not as impressive as Sue.
I got pretty curious about how the two skulls compare... they are pretty comporable. And both museums are pretty famous for thier skeletons. But Big Mike's head is bigger by a little bit. It looks a lot bigger in the picture, but I think that is because they have it displayed with the mouth open.
