Still sick, but here is a picture of the garden...

Things seem to be green and growing.  As far as I can tell, we have no food in the garden to speak of. I will have to do some reading about onions and how to know when they are ready to come out of the ground, and of course the herbs can be used right now, but I can't find any veggies yet.  Although I have to admit with the large mosquito population in my yard I haven't looked very hard!  Clearly I know very little about growing vegetables, since I have little to no idea when to expect "food" to be there.  We never got the carrots, or lettuce planted, which are really the only two things I have grown before...  The strawberries did start to flower and fruit, but we followed the "instructions" and picked the fruits and blossoms off so that the roots can develop and we can have a good crop next year.

We will keep you posted when we have something more substatial to show!

  1. I love all the pictures on your blog!! It was so great to see you when you were here--your boys look like they are doing well and enjoying life. Good luck with the garden--I haven't attempted that yet in my life.

  2. Plant the lettuce anyway. It is pretty hardy and quick. It's not too late.
