August 28th, 2010Sun Prairie has a great Midget Race Track and we try to go once a year to see the races. Our plans earlier this season got rained out, and we are down to the last few races of the season, so we made a point to go tonight.
It was a fun race. We saw this hot air balloon during the national anthem, and Jonthan's favorite car won both its heat and its race. We also saw two crashes (we have always seen one crash, but this is the first time we have seen two in one night). The second crash was the first time we have ever seen the driver ever actually taken away in an ambulance (he did get out of the car, take off his helmet and walk to the ambulance to get checked out, but then they decided that he should go to the hospital for observation).
It is sad to think that the Midget Races are ending for the year because that means that the summer is almost over. But, at the same time, we sure do love fall! So, I guess we still have things to look forward to.
