I was supposed to fly to California today for a wedding. I ended up taking a voucher (thank you American Airlines!) to fly tomorrow morning. Which was good not only because it meant that I would arrive at a more reasonable time of day, but also because I had been having one of those days. You know, when everything that can go wrong will. Based on everything that had happened before I arrived at the airport and was offered a voucher, I am not sure how my flights would have gone!

My favorite thing that happened was that my scooter unexpectedly ran out of gas. I know, how does it happen unexpectedly? Well, I think that the change in temperature affected the dial, and though all summer I have been able to run it below the empty line for 10 or more miles, it ran bone dry before reaching the empty line at all.

Such is life. Nicholas was offered the opportunity by his dad to be a "superhero" and go save mom. He poliety declined before discovering that it wasn't really a choice, but more of a polite framing of what they were going to be doing!

He came around when he got to put my helmet on and sit on the scooter for a minute after helping me fill it with gas! What a cutie.
