Today Nicholas was a bit braver on the beach, and actually went on on the boogie board. I have a video that I plan to upload to You Tube of what he did with the boogie board. In this picture you can see him paddling. The picture however is misleading because of the glare off the water... the boogie board is still touching the sand. He had figured out that the wet sand meant that the waves had been there. So he went a little bit into the wet sand and would lay the board down, and then lay there and wait for the waves. If they didn't come, he would move it a few feet towards the water and wait again. He would keep doing this until a wave came close enough for him to paddle his hands in an inch or two of water. It is pretty funny on the video.
Jonathan did great with his boogie boarding today, and even tried standing on the surf board, he worked at it with the surf instructor for about 10 minutes and got up to standing before falling off twice. We are hopeful that he tides will allow us to have more lessons this weekend so that he can feel the success of standing and moving a little bit before falling in.
