June 14th

June 14th, 2010

Jonathan got this awesome Bunk/Loft Bed from Ikea a long time ago. We got a lot of good use out of it. Then Jonathan grew out of it, and Nicholas hadn't grown into it yet, so we traded it to a friend in exchange for a full size mattress for Jonathan's bed. It was given back to us this week and set up in Nicholas's room. He is pretty excited about it. He did have one request though, that the bottom be made into a fort. He wanted me to pin up sheets and close it in, but I wasn't sure that was the best idea for safety reasons, so I made him these reversible panels that hang from his bed that can be taken off and flipped around, and taken down whenever he wants. They also provide a plethora of exit routes. There will be two more panels on the end of the bed, but my eyelet setting tool broke and so they aren't hung yet. I have to admit that it is a pretty awesome bed now, no wonder he is always too excited to go to sleep!
